Bitter Apricot Kernels are the seeds from inside stones at the heart of apricots and have a brown colour, these have high levels of vitamin B17 (amygdalin) in them*.Once sold as food suitable for human consumption in their raw state these are now only sold for cosmetic use or as an ingredient to be used in cooked/baked food.

* These apricot kernels may contain up to 150mg per kg of amygdalin. The FSA (Food Standards Agency) has set a maximum level of 20mg/kg for raw apricot kernels sold for human consumption. (EC regulation 2017/1237)

To remain compliant with the FSA, these Bitter Apricot Kernels are sold for use as above. Commonly used ground in body scrubs, facial scrubs and as a beauty exfoliation ingredient. Grind into fine granules and mix with Fine Pink Himalayan Crystal Salt and Coconut Oil to create an all natural body scrub.
